THE PROJECT:

A talent search to find original video clips of you doing what you love most at King Pine Ski Area.  Your video can be serious, funny, weird, outrageous, wild, animated, cute, or thoughtful… anything except boring.

If your clip is selected as one of the best submissions, you will go on to compete in Part 2 of the Video Challenge. Winners of Part 1 must film their Part 2 videos at King Pine during the month of March highlighting King Pine’s UberSpring festivities. The winner of Part 2 will have their video professionally edited and the clip will be used for advertising during the 2010/11 season. Video entrants could win a season pass to King Pine Ski Area for the 2010/11 season, skis, snowboards, or other cool prizes.

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Anyone may enter – kids, teenagers, adults and even grandparents.
  • Any number of persons may be on a team to produce an entry.  Entries do not have to be produced by a single person.

RULES:

  • Deadline for entries is February 28, 2010
  • Each entry must be submitted with an official entry form that is completed in full.
  • All entries must comply in full with the RULES in order to be accepted.
  • Entries must be uploaded to the video challenge pod on www.kingpine.com/video-challenge
  • All entries become the property of King Pine Ski Area with all reproduction and broadcast rights.
  • All entries must be produced in a way that does not endanger (or damage) talent, crew, the general public, and/or animals.
  • Total running length, including closing credits, may not exceed 4 minutes. Pre-roll, producer’s comments, and additional footage, etc. do not count toward running time.  NOTE:  While 4 minutes is the maximum time allowed, a shorter running time may be better and have more impact.  Running time is not nearly as important as the content of the video.
  • A single opening graphic (such as a title) is allowed, but additional opening credits are discouraged unless necessary. Closing credits should be no more than 5 seconds total.  Closing credits may include recognition for talent and crew.
  • Entries must be filmed on Purity Spring Resort and King Pine Ski Area property. A King Pine logo must be show during the clip.
  • Remember that King Pine is a family ski area. Any entry that is rude, irresponsible, involves nudity, drugs or violence, is sexist, discriminatory or otherwise lacking in taste, intelligence, and common sense will disqualify your entry. This includes the lyrics in music.

PRODUCTION TIPS:

The following are recommendations (not rules) that may help your entry stand out:

  • Keep to one subject – We know King Pine offers many winter options, pick your favorite, keep it specific and clear, even if you tell it in an unusual way.
  • Titles, credits, and graphics are NOT required. Music MUST be properly credited if you do not own it.
  • Sound is important – on-camera talent or voiceover should be clear and easy to understand.
  • As far as video goes – if it’s not in focus, it’s out of focus.
  • Remember that King Pine is a family ski area. Any entry that is rude, irresponsible, involves nudity, drugs or violence, is sexist, discriminatory or otherwise lacking in taste, intelligence, and common sense will disqualify your entry. This includes the lyrics in music.

KING PINE'S RIGHTS:

  • All entries become the property of King Pine Ski Area with ALL reproduction, broadcast, distribution, and sales rights.  Entries WILL NOT be returned (this includes DVD’s and memory sticks.)
